Introduction

Alzwell aims to empower people living with Alzheimer’s by keeping them updated on the latest developments on the 2,000+ conditions we have on our platform (ranging from news articles, FDA approvals, treatments and latest research), providing condition management features, and social matching with other users, thus empowering the person with dementia on their medical journey. Our commitment is to be transparent about the data we collect about you, how it is used and with whom it is shared.

This Privacy Policy applies to the application, including all of its features and functionalities (“App”) offered by Alzwell (“Febo Health Inc”).

Data We collect

You don’t have to create an account to use our service features, such as searching and viewing some of our articles, news in our feed, our accessing our health management tools. If you create an account, we only store: email, password, full name.

If you decide to be anonymous, no email address or name, there is no data collection. Your account will be a unique code that is not linked to your identity.

1.1 Registration
Alzwell provides the option to create an account or you can register by logging in through third-party websites, apps.
To create an account, you need to provide data including a display name, photo, email address, be over 18 years old, and create a password.

1.2 Profile
Alzwell’s user profile includes information such as display name, brief biography, an email address, DOB, condition followed and country of residence. However, all the information is not displayed as public information. GENERAL VS SOCIAL MATCHING PROFILE.

Your display name and username are always public, but you can use either your real name or a pseudonym. The photo and the brief biography are also public information but not necessarily mandatory to be filled out when you create a profile. Your Alzwell profile will be also used to match you with similar users on the platform.

1.3 Posting and Uploading
We collect personal data from you when you provide, post or upload, such as when you like, create or share information from our Platform. This can include information in or about the content you provide, such as the location of a photo or the date a file was created. We also collect information about how you use our features such as the types of content you view or engage with or the frequency and duration of your activities.

1.4 Our Services

1.4.1 Medicine Reminder
In our section “Medicine reminder” we gather information such as: name or pseudonym of the medicine to take, the dose, indications and the periodicity that the user needs or desires to take his/her medicine. As permitted by its configuration, notifications are sent according to the time, setup as a reminder.

1.4.2 Food Diary
Our food diary; we store multiple data about the food that the user wants to register, for example, by type of food (e.g., “Breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack”); every time the user wants to register an item, he can do so by taking a photo or scanning the barcode of the product.

The information that will be stored about this item, will be, the image, the calories, the size of portions, the date and time that the user wants to register.

1.5 Cookies
We may collect cookies, which are text files that are saved on your device (e.g. smartphone, tablet, etc.). Types of cookies we may use include “session cookies” which are data files stored in temporary memory and are not retained after your browser is closed, and “persistent cookies”, which are data files capable of providing websites with user preferences, settings and information for future visits.

1.6. Social Matching
Alzwell has the option for users to create a profile linked to an email address and be matched to people with dementia with similar preferences on the social matching option. The user profile can include a profile picture, condition they are interest, and if they are looking to be a mentor, looking for a mentor, or looking for advice.
Alzwell only collects a full name, email address and conditions that are posted on the user’s profile. To create a social matching profile an email address is required.

Data from Others

2.1 Content and News
ALZWELL collects public information about, for example, news, medical articles, videos, clinical trials information related to the user’s chosen interest, and makes it available as part of our Services, including, as permitted by its configuration, sending notifications as soon as these articles are posted.

There are other features of ALZWELL (E.g., Activity, Achievements) where the data is not collected or saved by ALZWELL, we only display that information from third party vendors.

Use of Data We Collect

The information we collect is used, generally, to provide our Services, identify and communicate with you (including sending you marketing messages), respond to your requests/inquiries, improve our services.

  • General communication – to provide you with our services, we use your personal information to send you texts, emails or other communications
  • Provision of service – we will use the Personal Information you provide us for the provision and improvement of our Service to you. (for example, we will use your Health information to send you reminders to take your medications).
  • Analytics, surveys and research – we are always trying to improve our services and think of new and exciting features for our users. From time to time, we may conduct surveys or test features, and analyze the information we have to develop, evaluate and improve these features.
  • Device integration – we can use the data from your devices or smart watches to provide general recommendations based on vitals and tracked information.
  • We may use session and persistent cookies on our website. We may use these cookies for purposes such as operating our website or the App, as necessary, and for remembering your preferences. You can always delete or disable cookies that are not necessary for the operation of our website or the App through the settings of your browser or device.

Data deleted

You can request your data to be deleted by sending an email to [email protected] and add on the subject line “Info Delete Request”.
